Why You Should Take Your Baby To A Chiropractor
Many people are surprised to hear that children can benefit from chiropractic care – and this is completely understandable. Chiropractic care for kids is very different with that of adults – children are not “mini” adults, their little bodies function and move in a completely different way so should their chiropractic care .
“But why does a baby get spinal problems?”
Birth, a natural and beautiful process, often places significant strain on the baby’s spine, especially the neck. Sometimes when the birth is long or difficult, when there is intervention used (such as forceps or C-section) – the strain and stress on the baby is further increased. Some studies have indicated that birth related spinal trauma is as high as 80-95%.
As the baby starts to grow, develop and learns to crawl – this is not only a huge neurological milestone for the baby, but also a huge biomechanical challenge. Some babies can develop spinal or pelvis dysfunction, very similarly with an adult doing a hard workout after being inactive for so long.
As the child starts to walk, play and explore, they will endure many falls and accidents (hopefully mild ones), again causing imbalance in their musculoskeletal system.
“What are the signs and symptoms that my baby may have spinal dysfunction?”
Some common signs and symptoms, though not limited to, that can indicate your baby might be having some spinal and/or cranial issues which chiropractic can help with:
Breast feeding issues
Poor suck
Excessive crying or fussing.
Easily startled
Preferring one breast over another
Difficulty sleeping
Sleeping in the same head position all the time
Excessive dislike to tummy time
Misshapen head or a flat part on the head
Asymmetrical facial features
Medical intervention used during birth.
“So what does chiropractic care for my baby look like?”
Adjusting a baby is very different with adjusting an adult. The techniques utilised are gentle to suit their little bodies’ needs, very rarely is manipulation performed. Most of the time an adjustment involves gentle stretching and mobilisation which normalises and facilitates the function of the baby’s growing musculoskeletal system.
“Is chiropractic adjustment safe for my baby?”
The safety of Chiropractic is well-documented. In adult studies, where spinal manipulation are used, the likelihood of serious adverse reaction to be as low as one in 5.83 million, 5 times less likely than being struck by lightning) and 250 times safer than taking a course of anti-inflammatory. In children, where much gentler techniques (mostly without the use of manipulation) are used, the risk of chiropractic adjustments is extremely low.
Ideally, every baby should be have a Chiropractic assessment as early as possible for spinal and nerve dysfunction related to birth trauma, especially if there are visible signs observed (above). An assessment can reveal whether or not chiropractic can help, if not, appropriate referrals can also be made.
Ensuring your baby has a healthy spine and nervous system is important for their normal growth and development. Healthy babies, without spinal or nerve dysfunction, are happy babies.

Tips for half- year old baby
About the age of six months your baby will be ready to eat solid food. This is because around the age of six months is when your child's mouth will change to cope with swallowing solid food. Another good way to tell if your baby is ready is when your baby has reached double its birth weight. If you happen to feed your baby solid food prior to this then your baby may have a hard time to digest the food.
You will need a few things before you start feeding your baby solid food like bibs, a bowl and spoon that is not breakable, and a food processor will come in handy. Naruto Guide
The very first solid baby food to try is rice cereal, it is low in protein and will not be likly to cause any allergic reaction. Mix the rice with breast milk or with formula and be sure that it is mixed thin, it will be simpler for you baby to swallow. After your baby is used to the rice you can try to add some vegetables to it, then fruit. Vegetables before the fruit because your baby may not like the vegetables after trying the fruit.
Any dairy made from cows milk needs to be avoided until your baby is one year old. After your baby has had cows milk for a month or more you can add other dairy products. It is best to put your baby on solid food gradually do not be in a hurry wait at least twenty four hours before you introduce a new food, this is to be sure that your baby is not having any reaction.
Remember that you need to let your baby be in charge. You will be informed by your baby whether or not it needs a top up or if they are still hungry.

Pregnant Woman
After a boring weekend, I hoped for a little excitement in tonight's episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. What I got, however, was an hour of "she said. She said," and not in the fun way that ends with table flippings. Minus a few catty comments from the ladies and some hilarious one liners form Phaedra, this episode did not live up to Atlanta's dramatic hype. It almost had me wishing for Real Housewives of D.C. to return. Yeah; it was that bad.
In attempt to get away from all the drama she causes, NeNe decided to take a girls trip to Miami with her lapdog Cynthia and Kandi. Although NeNe has bashed on her more than a few times, Kandi decided to give her another chance and hopes for a smooth trip. Clearly she forgot about last season's trip to Miami. God bless you Kandi. You'll need it to handle Miss Crazy.
And if anyone can help her get in touch with God, it's future funeral home owner Phaedra. After meeting a famous funeral home director, Phaedra realizes working with the dead is her true passion. but more important than following her dream is creating a business her son can take over someday. What a creepy family business.
Thankfully, Kim and Kroy have a less morbid plan for their family business. Being the mountain boy that he is, Kroy hopes to open a hunting store when his football career ends. But first, Kim's gotta get the baby out of her hoo-ha. As the birth of her son and her 33rd birthday approach, Kim has become a bit depressed. I would too if I had ot refrain from tequila shots on my birthday. To cheer her up, Kroy decides to throw a surprise birthday party for his baby momma. He's hot, he's sweet, and he likes guns. You are one lucky woman Miss Zolciak (or should I say Mrs. Biermann. Congrats on your wedding this weekend love!) and Kim knows she's lucky, as he continues to gush over Kroy during a dinner with Sheree. She says she's happy she took things slow with him. If being eight months pregnant after dating someone for two months is slow, then I'm probably moving backwards in time with my relationships. But I think I like it that way.
Back in Miami, the ladies are lounging on the beach and trying to find some men. This becomes a challenge since they decided to have their ladies weekend during PRIDE, a different type of ladies weekend. And to add to the challenge, NeNe points out that Kandi's thighs are huge. Really NeNe? You wanna look in the mirror and say that again as you chow down on nachos. You are far from a skinny mini, and while I believe beauty come in all sizes, I also believe shouldn't make negative comments on someone else's body when you have similar figured. I also believe Kandi is one of the hotter housewives out there, so NeNe can basically suck my non-existent d-ck. The ladies do manage to find some middle aged, balding men and play a round a Frisbee. If that doesn't arouse you, well then you're normal.Let's return to a cute couple. It's Kim's birthday and Kroy does everything right. He takes her to dinner, and treats her like a queen. I want me one of those! When they return to the house, Kim is blow away by her extra surprise. With her family, closest friends, and hair designer by her side, Kim couldn't have asked for a better birthday. Hell, Kroy even hired a masseuse to pamper Kim when the guest left. Looks like sweet guys do exist, but only in Montana. And they all lived happily ever after. Boring! I'm happy that the ladies seem happy wiht their lives but come on. I expect weekly drama when it comes to the Real Housewives and it better come soon, or I may have to find a new series to specialize in.

Why Should I Teach My Baby Sign Language
Baby Sign Language is the practice of using symbolic gestures to enhance your verbal interactions with your baby. Using symbolic gestures is something that all human beings do naturally. It helps your baby communicate with you before she has the verbal ability to do so. Some examples of sign language are when your baby raises her arms to you because she wants to be picked up or your baby would point at something because she wants to draw your attention. Not only is it completely natural to use symbolic gestures, it is nearly impossible to stop yourself from doing so. Imagine trying to give directions to people without using your hands. It can be really frustrating trying to make other people understand what you are trying to say without actually saying it. This is the same way for babies. Since babies can usually make simple sounds, they can get frustrated when they cannot express what their wants and needs. Frustration for babies usually leads to meltdowns which also increases the level of stress for the parents. Aggressive behavior is cut down by signing with infants or toddlers, including biting and hitting due to frustration.
Through Baby Sign Language, the baby isn’t just limited to simple sounds and meltdowns. If you use specific hand gestures to enhance certain words when you interact with your baby, your baby would also learn to do the same hand gestures that you do. Through this method, interacting with your baby would be much easier because your child will not only be able to tell you when he or is she cold, hungry, happy, tired, or sick, but also tell you that he or she needs to get a toy from the shelf. Signing can make your baby feel that they can come to you with their needs, wants, and ideas.

Helpless Hosts,Bullied Into Babysiting
I’ve never had a baby, but I imagine the worst part about doing so would be having to take care of it. They’re so loud and expensive and drooly and gross. I’m not interested.
Wouldn’t it be magnificent if I could just drop my baby in someone else’s care and never really have to worry about it again? I would be happy knowing my genes were passed on, and I’d be even happier because I didn’t have to get vomited on in the process.
Well, a species of bird shares my genius idea — the Great Spotted Cuckoo basically bullies the European Magpie into taking care of its young, and the magpie just lets the cuckoo do it like the pathetic weakling it is.
It’s all because of the cuckoo’s majesty and power.
Cuckoos choose magpies that they think will be good parents. They scour an area and choose the largest magpie nests. The magpies that can build the biggest nests generally have the most resources, which means they probably have the biggest territories. And birds with the biggest territories are probably the biggest and the strongest, which makes them high quality, as we all know. High quality birds make high quality parents. So the cuckoos choose the best ones then lay their eggs in the magpie nests and fly off to let the magpie take care of it.
You see, even though the magpie can tell the difference between its own eggs and the cuckoos eggs, it still usually sits on it and feeds the chick because if a magpie tries to strike back and throws the egg out of its nest, the cuckoo gets understandably upset.
“That was my baby, yo,” it says in bird language.
And then it rounds up its cuckoo buddies and together they wreak havoc on the magpie nest and destroy the magpie eggs. That does kind of seem like a lot of effort when the cuckoo could instead be eating or laying more eggs or resting or playing Halo and trying to outcompete its roommates.
So why does the cuckoo bother harassing the magpie?Well, the magpie needs to learn its place. And it works.Magpies that just accept it and raise the cuckoos’ young actually do better in the long run than magpies that try to fight back and throw the cuckoos’ eggs out of their nests. After the cuckoos ruin the magpie’s life, the magpie builds another nest and is way more likely to just give up and raise the cuckoo’s young the next time, so it wasted all that energy. And no matter what, the cuckoo gets its chick raised. And really, the cuckoos are essentially setting an example for all the other magpies who think they’re tough.

How can I tell if my baby can hear clearly
All babies are screened for hearing impairment shortly after birth. If she has been born with hearing difficulty it will be detected straight away. The test is simple and quick, and won’t hurt or be uncomfortable for your baby. For more information see the NHS Newborn Hearing Screening Programme.
Some babies with perfect hearing don't seem to notice noises around them. If your baby sleeps through the phone ringing and the dog barking, don't worry. It's unlikely to mean that her hearing is affected. She probably just needs her sleep.
If you want to test your baby's hearing for yourself, the best time to do it is when she's wide awake and alert. Here are a few quick tests you can do:
If your baby is under three months, clap your hands behind her head. If she startles, she's fine. If she doesn't, repeat the claps a few times (NHS 2008).
If your baby is a bit older, between four and six months, she should have some head control. Call her name to see if she turns towards you or reacts to your voice. She might also turn her eyes or head to look for an interesting sound. As hearing and talking are linked, by four months your baby should start to make cooing sounds and other noises (NHS 2008).
Between six and 10 months, your baby should respond to her name and familiar sounds, such as the ringing of the phone or the roar of the vacuum cleaner, or even quiet noises if she’s not occupied with other things (NHS 2008).
Between 10 and 15 months, she should be able to point to a familiar object in a picture book when asked, and react when you say her name. She may even notice quieter sounds coming from another room, and may respond to an expression such as "bye bye", even when no gestures are used (NHS 2008).
If your baby doesn't respond to any of these tests, or if you’re not certain and want a second opinion, talk to your doctor or health visitor. It is likely to be only a temporary loss caused by a cold (NHS 2009a). Or she may simply be too engrossed in something else to take notice.

Will teething be painful for my baby
The arrival of your baby's first tooth won't be much fun for either of you. Your baby may be in pain and drool for a month or two before his tooth appears. You could be up at night trying to console him while he waits for a tooth to break through. To ease his suffering, your baby may start biting, but not out of anger or hostility. Give him something to bite on, or rub his gums gently with a clean finger to help soothe the ache (CKS 2009).
Your baby's gums can also become inflamed when he cuts a tooth, which may make his cheeks appear red and swollen (CKS 2009). You may worry that your baby has a fever or diarrhoea when a tooth is about to come through, but teething shouldn't cause illness (CKS 2009). If your baby seems ill, it's more likely he's coming down with a cold, an infection or a tummy bug. Take him to your doctor if you are concerned (CKS 2009).For some babies, teething can be a fairly painless mouth makeover. One week your baby is sporting a toothless grin, and the next a jagged white edge may appear on the gum surface, without causing much upset Celebrate your baby's first tooth by taking lots of pictures, and note its arrival date in his baby book. Your baby's teeth will sprout one after another. After the arrival of the two bottom front teeth, expect the top two middle teeth, then the teeth along the sides and back. Tooth development is hereditary, so if you got your teeth early, chances are your baby will, too.

How can you encourage your baby to sit up
You can help your baby learn to sit by encouraging her to play lying on her tummy as much as possible. Try to get her to her to look up, by using colourful and noisy toys, or by pulling funny faces and making sounds (CSP 2003, RFHT 2008).
Encouraging her to look up will help strengthen her head, shoulder, neck and back muscles. Strengthening these muscles will help her to develop the head control she needs for sitting up (CSP 2003, FSID 2006, Kuo et al 2008, Ma 2009, RFHNT 2008).
Once your baby can sit fairly well, put toys and other fun objects just out of her reach. They will hold her attention as she learns to balance herself with her arms.
As always, and especially when she's just learning to sit, be sure to stay close to your baby in case she falls.

How will you know if your baby has vision problems
Your baby's eyes will be examined before she leaves hospital, as part of her newborn check. Your GP will also examine your baby's eyes at your postnatal check, when your baby is between six and eight weeks old.
At birth it's normal for your baby's eyes to roll away from each other occasionally. But if your baby is squinting all, or a lot of the time, tell your doctor or health visitor. They can refer you to a child vision specialist, called an orthoptist or ophthalmologist (Hall and Elliman 2006, NHS 2009b, Scott 2011).
Let your doctor or health visitor know if:
any vision problems run in the family
your baby has trouble moving one or both of her eyes in all directions
your baby's eyes are crossed most of the time
one or both of your baby's eyes tend to turn out or wander
your baby can't track an object with both eyes by the time of your postnatal check
(Hamer and Mirabella 2008, NHS 2009b, RCO 2009)
Babies born prematurely and babies born with a low birth weight are more likely to have vision problems. This is because the eyes don't finish developing at the end of pregnancy.
If your baby was born early or with a low birth weight she will be screened for a condition called retinopathy of prematurity (NHS 2009a, RCPCH 2008). This condition happens when the blood vessels that supply the eyes with oxygen and nutrients haven't fully developed (NHS 2009a, RCPCH 2008). This condition is fully treatable if it is noticed early (Hall and Elliman 2006, RCPCH 2008).
If you're worried about your baby's eyesight as she grows up, talk to your doctor. Many eye problems can be treated successfully if they're spotted early.
